My name is Boyd Murdoch and I am a member of the Ayrshire Greens.
I am an ordinary working class guy from Ayrshire
I feel people like us are not really represented properly in British politics at the moment. I have spoken to young people while out and about campaigning who told me they would vote for Scottish Greens but they didn't get the impression that we are socialists. I believe people do not relate to us becaue they do not see themselves represented by us and I believe we need to choose candidates that reflect the electorate.
I have a broad exerience of life:
I have faced the humiliation of unemployment, I have overcome mental ill health, and I currently work in a low paid service industry job. For me the social justice issues we face in Scotland today are neither abstract nor academic. Therefore I would not only like to see more sustainable jobs for everyone who is able and wants to work, but also I would like to see the stigma surrounding unemployment removed.
I have a passion for politics and a green vision for Scotland.
I am passionate about industrial democracy, social justice, renewable energy, and women's and LGBTI rights.
I am passionate about industrial democracy, social justice, renewable energy, and women's and LGBTI rights.
I believe we have only one world and it should benefit all inhabitants not just a wealthy few,
everyone should be able to live with dignity and the opportunity to find meaning and purpose in life
I will use my passion, my experience and my connection to working class Scotland to work for the Green vision, and to make it more accessible to other working class people like myself.
